About Julianne Strom Brill

I’m Julianne — artist, antique lover, and founder of Moss and Blue. My work is rooted in a deep reverence for the natural world, the quiet beauty of natural rhythms, and the layered charm of timeworn objects. Through original paintings and handcrafted goods, I strive to create work that feels unique, peaceful, and encourages a deeper understanding of ourselves.

My studio practice is guided by curiosity and craftsmanship — whether I’m painting abstracted landscapes, sketching wild florals, or repairing an antique frame. I’m interested in art that invites pause; in spaces that tell a story. In the kind of beauty that lingers long after you’ve left the room.

From my home studio in Massachusetts, I create and collect with intention — and invite you to explore the world of Moss and Blue through artwork, antiques, and seasonal gatherings.

At the heart of our design philosophy is the belief that memorable interiors are equal parts modern and timeless. From the unique perspective of a fine artist's eye, we carefully curate all the elements for your home's finishing touches.

“Julianne is a profoundly talented and gifted artist who helped me realize a long-standing dream. I had always wanted to commission a unique piece of art, and I was (and am) deeply inspired by her artistry. We shared ideas, and ultimately, she envisioned a painting that would be a gorgeous standalone piece to admire and also function as an excellent background statement piece for my video conference calls. I’ve already had multiple clients and friends comment on the stunning work. Best of all, whenever I walk into my office, her artwork enriches my life and the environment in more ways than I can count. Thank you, Julianne.”

“I'm a new homeowner and worked with Julianne to put some finishing touches on my space -- a Victorian home built in 1920. Julianne helped me find unique and affordable vintage pieces to hang and display and worked with the eclectic pieces I already had (even salvaging a vintage farm table that had been unnoticed and gathering dust in my garage!) to create a truly cohesive and sophisticated ambiance that reflects my personal style. I couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, fun, and helped me bring the space to life. If you love the look of one-of-a-kind salvaged pieces but don't know where to find them -- I would highly recommend working with Julianne!”

“I found Julianne’s artwork in 2020 and fell in love with her beautiful blues. I bought 3 original paintings during Covid, and added a few pink prints to decorate bedrooms. When Julianne started to paint trees, I was so connected with the difference from her other pieces and put one in the front entrance to my home, a reminder of why we built a house in the woods. To balance my collection, I had Julianne paint a custom piece representing the trees in my backyard, so when standing in our staircase you could look at the painting, almost like looking out a window at our backyard.”
